IT’S SEA TURTLE SEASON MAY 1 – OCT 31st HELP US PROTECT THESE MAJESTIC CREATURES!

Siesta Key is know for its beauty and wildlife, if disturbed these amazing creatures will not come back to nest if they feel threatened. This goes for all wildlife, birds, turtles, snakes, manatee, etc. LET NATURE BE, TAKE ONLY PHOTOS AND LEAVE ONLY FOOTPRINTS!!!

What you can do to help during turtle nesting season:

•If you encounter a nesting turtle, remain quiet and observe from a distance.

•Fill in holes YOU DIG that may trap hatch-lings.

•Throw trash away in proper place.

•Don’t approach turtles, hatch-lings or make noise.

•Don’t use flashlights, it will confuse the turtles sense of direction, they are guided by moonlight.

•Don’t touch sea turtles or hatch-lings.
